+ MP & BCM Merge

Two of Portland’s most visible and musically progressive record labels have begun the new year with the announcement of their new organization in to one label family. Milled Pavement CEO Marc Shepard (Moshe) and brick.city.media CEO Jason Hjort (j.hjort) are proud to announce that the two labels are now merged, and have already unfolded an ambitious game plan for 2008.

brick.city.media is now under the Milled Pavement umbrella, operating as it’s electronic/dance imprint. brick.city.media will now receive the benefit of Milled Pavement’s greater digital and physical distribution channels, while Milled Pavement acquires an expanded artist roster in an area the label was looking to develop in the coming year.

The first collective release will be beats.on.the.rocks. vol. III, the continuation of brick.city.media’s successful compilation series, coming this spring. This year will also bring several remix collaborations between the combined labels’ roster, as well as the first true fusion of the labels’ sounds, Moshe and j.hjort’s Eardrum Pornography. Other upcoming releases on b.c.m include singles from j.hjort, the secret weekend, c money burns, metris, vik44 and late night clouds project, all available for free download from the label’s website.
